A network largely consisting of Brazilian and Nordic trade union representatives is currently examining labour relations and employment conditions at Veracel. This study is being led by the Brazilian research institute Observatório Social. Veracel provides information for this study, but is not financing the project. The objectives of the project are:

• to develop systematic and fruitful collaboration between employees and employers at the Veracel Pulp Mill;
• to strengthen the Brazilian employees' own union;
• well-functioning industrial relations;
• to develop other local forms of collaboration.
