The Sustainability 2004 report is designed to address the main sustainability issues raised by Stora Enso’s stakeholders. This report is the Group’s second sustainability report that combines environmental and social issues into an integrated report.

One important achievement during 2004 was the establishment of the Stora Enso Code of Ethics. It ensures compliance with the US Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, and also incorporates the Group's existing financial, social and environmental policies and practices. The Group’s operational management is responsible for compliance with the Code, which applies to all Stora Enso employees.
