Every organisation, event or activity Stora Enso supports should reflect one or more of the Group’s values: performance, customer focus, responsibility, an emphasis on people, and a focus on the future. In this respect UNICEF is an ideal partner for Stora Enso.

Stora Enso’s mills and other units are involved in their local communities in many ways. Local schools and universities can be supported through free supplies of Stora Enso products, sponsorships of educational materials and programmes, scholarships, and promotional work related to technical professions.

Donations are widely given to local charities, museums or environmental funds. Some units share infrastructure or services such as the fire brigade with local communities. During 2004, several mills and sawmills organised open house events, with several Baltic sawmills doing so for the first time.
