Man and machine working together.
We at Stora Enso Packaging have a common commitment, or mission: We are dedicated that every company should consider their packaging as being a vital and inherent part of their production process.
Many large logistic-intensive companies have long ago realized the value of using optimized packaging solutions. The food industry, Ikea and Ericsson are just a few of these. But you do not need to have a turnover of billions in order to benefit from designed packaging. We are here to assist you with every detail!
Our design teams work together to develop customized packaging solutions. This speeds up the process and facilitates overall project supervision.
The cooperation process usually starts with our sales representatives asking you a lot of questions. How and where will your products be transported, are they frozen, stored in humid conditions – etc.
When we know all your specific demands and parameters these are then passed on to our design department. Our expert graphic and packaging designers work intimately together with our sales representatives to develop and present solutions that match not only your products, but also your production and logistic flows. In other words, product optimization at its best.
Of course, we can offer a wide range of standard boxes – however, as much as 96% of our corrugated boxes are specifically designed to customer requirements.
You are most welcome to supervise the development of your packaging on our sketchbooks, computer screens and test printers. Each week we have visits from customers interested in following the progress of our designers.
The completed drawings – which can be produced and presented in 3D format – are sent to you so that you can study your new box from every angle. If you decide to order printed boxes you will also be given proofs of the print in 3D. And all of this will be based on a detailed and specified cost quotation. Following your approval, we will send you a pre-production completed box so that you can actually see and feel it.
Following your approval of the new box and the print (if applicable), we start our production. And when the boxes are ready, you have yet another option. Either we can send them all to you, or we can keep them in stock for you with a call off quantity delivery system according to your needs.

Imagine almost any product! It is probably packed in corrugated paper or board from Stora Enso Packaging. We are suppliers to all branches of Swedish industry.
This means that our knowhow ranges from the thin qualities to the practically indestructible Kraftwell. The qualities of corrugated board have been given their own special alphabet code: CC, BC, C, B, and E…. Or – to simplify – we work with a great variety of qualities ranging from very thin to extremely heavy duty and durable corrugated board. We can produce any quality that is just right or ‘lagom’ – no matter whether it must be suitable for light, heavy or fragile products.
For really heavy or high-value goods wood packaging is the obvious choice. However, wood is often too expensive as well as being too heavy. Our Kraftwell quality is the best alternative choice.
Kraftwell is a dual-layer corrugated board quality designed with two C-flute layers, each of which has a water repellent surface coating. This is an extremely durable quality. Compression tests show that a standard box can withstand loads of several tons.
We do not say that Kraftwell is suitable for every product. But we do maintain that this heavy duty quality can be used for a vast variety of applications.
Did you know – by the way - that corrugated board is suitable for so many more applications besides boxes? Contact us if you ever need protective sheets, pallet collars, display stands, box dividers, partitions etc… Very few materials have as many undiscovered uses as does corrugated board.

Our services and products are always based on a holistic customer relationship. No matter what kind of products that are packed in corrugated packaging supplied by us, we are concerned that they reach their destination without any damage. But we also like to relate to our customers in an even wider perspective.
Modern packaging often serves two purposes: to protect the product and to act as a sales and marketing tool based on a good graphic presentation. Many companies regard their boxes and cartons as silent sellers in loading bays, storage spaces, store display shelves etc.

Printing techniques used for packaging materials have become vastly improved during the past few years. At Stora Enso Packaging we work with a number of high-quality printing techniques. No matter if you make, sell or ship foods or sweets, clothes or spare parts, furniture or even paper – we can provide your packaging with an impressive and attractive print.
We offer a range of different possibilities, based on offset and different types of flexographic printing techniques. Whatever you choose depends upon your requirements, such as your distribution process, small or large volumes, printed motive and message etc.
Which one of these do you think the customer will choose?
This is the fastest growing printing technique for printing on corrugated board. This is easy to understand. Companies that sell consumer products demand packaging that is just as exciting as the product it contains, and offset produces the finest print quality.
However, the most important is of course that your printing and your packaging is ‘lagom’, i.e. just right for your particular product. We are convinced that any printing and packaging solutions should be an inherent part of your product presentation.

Corrugated packaging in suitable qualities and dimensions is a good start. But how do you fill and pack them? We have been working with automated packaging processes – or packaging concepts - for more than 20 years.
Traditionally, our main production has been wrap-around processes and tray erectors. For a number of years we have also been working with and installing automated packaging systems, i.e. processes involving one or more robots. Palletizing, which is the ultimate chain in the packaging or packing link, also is an obvious part of our complete customer services.
Too much to do? Maybe it’s time to empower your operation?
If your inquiry concerns a complete packaging system we always start with a systematic analysis of your whole operation. Based on this, our project engineers can develop a packaging concept that suits your products and your available space, working in close cooperation with our machine supplier, Österbergs.
Before any machine installation you will be able to see exactly how your new system will work from our detailed 3D drawings and simulations. When the system is developed, test runs will be carried out in our plant together with you and your machine operators. This will facilitate and speed up the installation on-site.
Standstills are not an option.
The fact that we have developed and installed your new packaging system does not mean that your are required to buy our corrugated board . However, the great majority of our customers feel this is a great advantage. In case of any malfunctions regarding machines or materials, you always know who to call.
A Service Agreement with us is guaranteed to minimize any problems which may occur. We do not accept any stop in your production. Our service contract is based on a fixed price including one to four annual service and maintenance visits.
Although our packaging systems are relatively easy to handle, operators need a certain amount of training to be able to maximize the use of the various functions. This is why we also offer operator training courses tailored to the needs and requirements of each individual customer.
In case you need to adapt your system for the production of new products, we will be happy to assist you with any modifications needed. Flexibility is one of the major strengths of the total system we offer our customers.
