Norske Veritas (DNV) is one of the world's leading providers of
classification, consulting and certification services. DNV is an
independent organisation established in 1864.
Keijo Salo is the lead auditor at Det Norske Veritas. He has bee working with audits of quality and environmental management systems for several years, mainly in the forest industry.
In the forestry sector, DNV provide management system certification (e.g. ISO 9000, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001), forest certification and chain-of-custody services.
Management system certification ensures that management systems fulfil standard requirements concerning management targets, measurements, any necessary corrective actions, processes, human resources and other resources. Certification audits are carried out on management systems at least once a year.
The traceability of wood
DNV has considerable experience in auditing companies' wood traceability systems and practices, including systems that also cover Russia.
