Environmental Management System
The environmental management system forms part of Stora Enso Metsä's quality management system. An independent auditor, Det Norske Veritas, granted the system quality and environmental certificates in accordance with the ISO 9002 and ISO 14001 standards in 1998. Stora Enso Metsä received EMAS registration in 1999.
The successful operation of the environmental management system in Russia is based on long-term partnerships with the wood suppliers. The Pääjärvi Harvesting Enterprise in Russian Karelia has been supplying wood for Kemijärvi Mill for 30 years.
