Facts and Figures
Stora Enso's Kemijärvi Pulp Mill was founded in 1965. The mill's total annual production capacity is approximately 225 000 tonnes of northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK). About two thirds of it is used by Stora Enso's paper mills, while the rest is sold as market pulp to external customers. The mill uses approximately 1.3 million cubic metres of wood per year. Three-quarters of this wood is procured from Finland, and the rest is imported from Russia. Since 1998 the mill's operations have been based on the ISO 9001 standard and ISO 14001 environmental certification.
