Lower Landing
Stems are transported intact from the harvesting site to the lower landing, where the wood is sorted, cut, stacked, and loaded for transportation.
Quality control work carried out jointly by Pääjärvi and Stora Enso ensures that no sub-standard wood enters the processes. Such wood, like trees that have been damaged in forest fires, is put aside to be used as fuel wood.
